I know there some very satisfied Purgen users on this forum. I've used it on and off for the past year with great results. however tonight when I was cleaning out my FX5 the Purigen was a bright green color like jade...I've never seen this before , just the usual brown color indicating it needs to be recharged....Any idea of why this one turned green and it's not algae..Is it safe to recharge?

I use Pergen and algone but I can't say I've ever seen that happen. You might want to hit thier website and ask about it.

I have seen it turn some funky colors, including red, but not green. I believe different colors indicate different compounds removed. Should be fine. Recharge it, and if it doesn't turn white again, it's shot. Did you use quick cure or some other blue med?

Hello,
There is nothing wrong with the Purigen; sometimes
the color change can be a little different. Just follow
the rule that when it changes color completely, it is
exhausted and ready to be regenerated. There should be no
problem regenerating the Purigen, and it should work just
fine once regenerated.
