Oh no! sand everywere! :(

Hi, i recently just set up a new 120 gallon tank with tahitan black moon sand, i washed it until the water came out clear, but when i added it, there are now very small sand particles floating at the top of my tank, the water is clear and fine, ut how can i get rid of the sand particles, my filter is off.. should i turn it on?

Skim the top with a fine net. then turn the filter on the big particles should get caught in the course filter media.

just smack them down. Thats what i do and they sink to the bottom.
