I just found one of my biggest common pleco dead floating at the top..... this is a shock cuz i havent had a death in a super long time and he was the last fish i expected to die. he 11" and it seems that he was bloated cuz he was really fat and a pink stringy thing half way out of his pooping hole (sorry). what could of been the cause of death??? and suggestions???

it was weird, i was doing a W/C and i saw something float and BAM!! there he was staring at me. lol

What were you feeding it? Did you notice him bloating before death? (I guess not)

i was feeding him what i normal do to all of my plecos. shrimp and cucumbers or zuchinis(whatever you spell it)
i didnt notice any difference in his body. only he did go after the cucumbers as fast as he used to. it took him a while to notice the food

Sounds somewhat like bloat to me.

Hard to tell, could be diet if there were problems beforehand, maybe tankmates and the increased size was after death. I'd imagine it to be the previous though.
