Took these pictures at about 4:30PM EST.
First set is at Navarre Beach. Even though the weather was kind of bad and the surf was rough, the beach was fairly crowded. No oil or tar balls spotted here.
The second set is about 6 or 7 miles to the west from Navarre Beach and about 11 miles east of Pensacola Beach but still on Santa Rosa Island. This area is part of the Gulf Islands National Sea Shore. Here I spotted tar balls and tar patties. No oil sheen on the water. I did see some tar balls in the surf but not much and they were small, granted I didnt really spend much time in the water. To be honest, this is EASY to clean up. I could probably clean up 100 yards of tar at the high tide line with a sand flea rake and a trash bag in ten minutes. I also only took pics of the worst areas. On average, there were far fewer balls and patties then in the pictures. Any how, thought yall would like to see what it looks like first hand.
