OK, going to be 40 in 2011. So i've decided on my dream tank.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Now remember, I don't live the lifestyle of the rich and famous, as I have two children and a wife to support. Having said that, here's my plan.

A 65 gallon with stand and canopy, filtered by an FX-5 and an aquaclear 110.

drift wood. java fern and sand on the bottom. and a single Ambloplites rupestris.

This is my plan.

Note - I love over-filtering.

Thoughts?

Sounds like a plan man. Make that one badass stand & canopy :D

(I don't know anything about that fish though)

do it buddy, trust me...I have a wife and two kids also, but wheeling and dealing on CL has lead to some amazing things. I traded and old printer for a 125 gallon acrylic tank not too long ago and also traded something for a 46 gallon with 18 exodons stand and everything. Just have to keep at it!

Yeah I googled it for pictures & common name, just didn't do any in depth reading. I'm not gonna go google a fish I don't know about so that I can chime in and tell you whether or not I think it'll live in the 65 for life...thats ridiculous:p

Cool looking fish though, probably not one I'd be interested in, but I could see it being a sweet centerpiece in a 65.

I also turn 40 next year. January 25th. Im planning on a huge downsizing and setting up a 40g breeder tank Iwagumi style.
Best of luck with your dream tank. Sounds like a cool idea.
