I am going to get over run by little baby reticulated sting ray's :headbang2. My mama has already had one and she is extremely healthy and getting big and fat. Mama is pregnant again and due around the middle to end of November, I know she is expecting at least 2 this time. I don't want to sell them to my LFS nor do I want to ship them. I know of several people in my area (Spokane Washington) that would like to have one. Would would be a reasonable price for a captive bred reticulated eating stingray? I would think they would be worth more than a wc but I just have no idea what to ask. Any suggestions?

i would pay 75-100 for a good healthy retic that is parasite free and eating, and that is from a good source.

since you can get unhealthy retics for 25-75 i figure that would be a good price for a good one.

$90-100. Hope you do keep some of the pups.

I think that depends on the availability and demand for the retic in your area. Personally, I have one lfs that sells their retics on sale for $50 and are usally not doing so well. Today I just picked up a male/female from my other lfs for $35 a piece and have seen them eat and are very active. They've been in the tank only a few hours and ate some bloodworms. I'd say around $50-$75 is a decent price, maybe more if they are hard to obtain in your area.

Thanks guys thats about what I was thinking around $80. My LFS sells them for $50 and she is one of 3 that sell them in my area the other 2 places you couldn't pay me to buy rays from them. And I have one other question....if I keep a few of the babies and they get to breeding size will I end up with mutated ray pup's? Are they ok to breed together? My LFS said she would trade me straight across for my cb for some wc but that doesn't seem fair to me at all....

So what are the chances that the pup's would be messed up since they are all related?? Anybody else out there breeding retic's that would possibly want to trade cb for cb???
