:help2: I have read some 15 or so threads, from start to finish, and I am just spinning my tires in the mud. I have got it in my head to make a DIY sump filter for my 125gal(before I try making one for the 250), and I just can't seem to get it down pat. Is there anyone here, who would be willing to explain it to me, step by step, with an explanation for the steps and equipment needed and how this system actually works? I have tried googling, tried finding manuals on Amazon.. but to no avail. I have only been a member here for a few days, but I'd say 90% of my time has been in the DIY section. I have the curse of being born with the desire to LEARN the WHY's to things just as much as the HOW's(since I don't plan on leaving anytime soon, might be something to get used to:nilly:). Id greatly appreciate any and all help. Pictures would be great as well.

Could anyone here explain to me how to make a canister filter out of a Bucket?? I would like to try that out on my 55 gallon I have coming to me in a month or so.

The Bigger tank will be fresh water, mostly with a combination of Bass, Pike, Walleye, Perch and Gar.

The smaller will be for Oscars.

Thank you in advance

Man me too, i have searched and read until my eyes hurt and i still don't get a few things. Like what keeps your sump from over flowing if the pump quits or a power outage? I would try to help with the things that i do understand but I would more than likely be wrong and or just confuse you. We need a how to sump/filter sticky for dummies on here i guess.
