ok wth is with my snails!
i have probably put a dozen in my 40 gallon community (and i hav 2 buy em at petsmart where they r **** expensive!!) and the longest they hav lasted is maybe 3 weeks
i am searching for answers any1 hav this problem?

I don't know if it is true, but I've heard that if you EVER use copper as a med, It will stay in the system and on decor forever and will kill snails.

Are these snails Pomacea bridgesii? If so, how does the store take care of them? Do they pull the snails forcibly when they stick on the glass? What is your temperature? What foods do you feed them? Water parameters? Have you added any chemicals? Does your tapwater contain heavy metals? Before they died, did they exhibit any abnormal signs?

I've had snails in my pond for years...

I think it could be food supply or water temperature....

My pond used to be a Koi pond, now its just a feeder pond, but they are about the size of young Kois... have plenty of algae outside as their food sources.....
Also, i have no heaters outside for the pond

I've honestly have never tried putting snails from my pond into my fish tanks.. (afraid they might carry disease) so dont know how they survive in fish tanks..

What kind of fish do you have inside your tanks? If their tropical that could be it.. Water is too warm??

If you lived closed by cali.. i can let u have free snails..... theres like thousands of them in my pond..

How big are your snails, and what fish do you have in with it?

I notice you've got a Geophagus in your avatar...they don't mind the odd snail at all...

im assuming these are the "mystery" snails for 1.99 yeah... well if you're having that many problems with your snails i'd take a look at your tank cuz everyone ive gotten there lived and grew quite well. You could also ask for any that you see are sucking things or even better are out crawling around in the plant tank. but first make sure your water is good

ya they r!
i get em and they r great for about a week and then all of the sudden they go in their shell and wont come out for about 3 days, then its just an empty shell
the ammonia is 0, nitrite is 0 nitrate is 10ppm the water is ph 6.2 the temp is 80 farenhieght
the stocking list is: 1 angelfish, 5 glass cats, 5 female mollies, 5 glowlight tetras, 3 golden wonder killifish, 2 dojo loaches, 1 dwarf bristlenose plec, its a 40 gallon

what are you feeding them? You pH is not at all ideal, but it shouldn't be killing them that quickly. Have you noticed your angel harassing them at all?
