I have heard that pool sand is the snizzle, so I bought it...

Now I have heard adding MTS will move the sand around, but now have seen some info saying buy 2-3 snails today and have 50,000 in a month???

Really? WIll thet get out of hand?

How many do you thing for a 180G tank?

a few loaches will keep the pop. in check

oh i thought they were all kinda crazy snail killers........?

well worse comes to worse,
bag a few and send them my way. :D

Depends on the individuals personality... I've had all species refuse to eat snails, incl. MTS. I can never stress enough... buy a loach if you want a loach, no other reason. I have a few of these "lazy" loaches in my snail ridden tanks lol

So, If YOU were me, would you add a couple of MTS's to the tank or NOT??

If you were me, I'd add snails. If I were you... well I don't know. You may or may not. I love MTS, and the populations can be controlled very easily by feeding foods that float, and/or making sure the food is only enough for the fish to eat fast. I keep them in all my tanks, and they don't get 'out of hand' in any of the tanks. I do have a lot of them though, but they rarely come out fo the substrate.

Well if you don't have lots of bottom dwellers that will stir things up, yeah, i'd put them in.

MTS is a good thing for the sand. If you don't get them, then you will need to stir the sand around now and them so no anaerobic pockets will form. I have them in all my tanks, and for the most part, they all stay hidden under the sand. Then at night you may see a few around on the glass. As long as you aren't overfeeding, then the MTS population will stay down.
