Just picked this up at the Container Store near me, want to make sure there's nothing wrong with it where it wouldn't work as a quarantine tub if set up with proper filtration/heat.

Basically, I need to know that this won't be some kind of plastic that will randomly poison my fish. Normally I'd quarantine in a little 10g tank I've got, but this is a 13'' fish so that's a no-go. My plan was to put my backup canister in there (with a small internal filter or possibly sponge filter) and a heater. Should I be concerned about the heater melting the plastic? If so, should I put a small layer of substrate on the bottom to stop that from happening and just lay the heater on that?

Any thoughts are appreciated. And no, I'm not putting the cat in there.

Looks fine to me, I have used similar tubs to hold fish during transfer and moving. Is say if you gave it a good cleaning before the fill then you'd be ok.

I also doubt the heater will hurt it, the ones I setup held a heater fine. I put boxes like that all the time in my attic and when its 110 outside I know my attic is even hotter and I have never had a problem with them melting or anything.

yeah i used something similar to hold my fish while i upgraded my tank. should be fine.
