I need a good camera for taking pics of my fish (and the newborn once it's born). Who says my priorities aren't in line?!?!?!

The Coolpix 10 is nice. Takes video. Takes pictures. Is fairly compact. The swivel lens on the side is pretty sweet. But it doesn't do anything great. It is a very good all in one package deal to throw in the pocket while on vacation.

Taking pics with the flash sucks because it has to be taken on an angle to keep the flash from reflecting back and then there is still some reflection. Taking without the flash I the fish have to not move or it blurs.

So what should I buy and what will it cost me? There is a pretty nice camera store next to where I work. I want to go in there with some information so they don't try to sell me the moon and some ocean front property in Nebraska...

I'm guessing that I will need different lenses? I don't want to deal with film though. I want to be able to put my 16GB card in there and go to town....

Megapixels means nothing when dealing with amerature photographers
