Alright, i need to know if a 4x2x2 will be ok on floor boards, the reason i as Uk people is because you guys know how wide and thick the joists are. (no offense to other people)
It will be under my stairs, going across the joists and is agaist the wall that holds the stairs up, but it is fairly bouncy wood, will the weight of then tank keep it firm?
it is a modern house so no thick joists. :D
Thanks guys. :feedback:

i keep my 6x2x2 on floor boards in my living room against a dividing wall which is not loadbearing.
my house is a victorian house 120 years old.
i have no problems

yes but your floor boards are bigger than mine.

i guarantee it will be fine! make sure the tank runs in the same direction as the floor boards though. your joist will be 4x2's minimum the floor boards could be minimum 12mm and still be far stronger than you need.

thanks danny boy, i sure do hope so does £250 sound good for a 4x2x2 hood, stand, lights fluval 4 and 404, exturnal 300w heater and a inturnal 100w plus a few balas and clown loaches plus medications

I like taking a piece of 5/8" plywood, in your case, 6'x 4', and covering it in a nice floor tile, then using it as a base for my tank stands. I don't know if it helps but it looks good and makes me feel more secure.
