In search of Leiarius
So i have made a diy aquarium ornament or two and they have at least four layers of acrylic paint on the outside.

Two questions:

How long will the acrylic stay on the ornament under water ?

Would silicone be good to use as a thin outer layer to keep the paint away from the water ?

THANKS

I wouldn't think that you would need a layer of silicone. It should stay on as lone as it is not chipped/scratched off.

So i would be good with the acrylic, the paint I used is by folkart and it is rated for outdoor use.

If you're really worried about it, go over it with a thick layer of Krylon Fusion to seal it up, but I think it will be OK.
