I started out with Ick a day or so ago. White spots on a 3" Albino G. Gourami, and 2 3" Pacus. I treat with Salt and QuICK Cure. Today this morning. The Ick is still there but now I have Tail Rot on the Gourami, White Spots still on the Pacus but also cloudy eyes with white flowing off of it. Im thinking contagian in the water because they are in a Tropipond on my patio. I go ahead and pull out my "Hospital Pond" a 50 gallon round. I am not seeing the Oscar alot right now. I fill this up and transfer over the fish. White blotches have formed on the pacus and you can see Fuzzy Fungus like on the tail of the Gourami. I fish out the oscar with a net. NOTHING!! No Ick NO rot no Fungus no White on the eyes. Perfectly healthy. I get Tetracycalene and treat the 50g Hosptial Pond and decide to drain the 110 tropipond. <I know this wont be there forever home they are small and will have a 350 Oval Stock Tank or a Lumber made Tropipond. <I am also in south florida so Im not worried about temperatures. I have heaters for the 3 nights its not in the 60's.

Now my question. If it was contagion in the water why is the oscar perfectly healthy.? Why is the oscar not infected with ICH like the rest? This isnt making sense. The only thing I can think of is I got Freeze Dried Shrimp fish food little shrimps and the only ones that were eating the shrimp were the Pacus and G. Gourami? Could it been something IN the shrimp? Plus the other night No one had eating all the shrimp so I had put that in my other Stock Tank Pond that has Goldfish and NOTHING on the goldfish. Netted them out to inspect them. Any insights would be helpful. OH .. Water paramaters were fine on Amonia Nitrates and Nitrites.

:confused::confused::confused:

Update. I have now lost the Giant Gourami. He/She didnt look NEARLY as bad as the Pacus who are still hanging in there? Anyone Have anything?

Also treating with Salt and put a heater in .... One of the Pacus seems to be favoring being by the heater. Agitating the water more for more o2

Pacus look like death warmed over but are still alive still cloudy eyed and cloudy bodied. The Oscar .. still shows no signs... Anyone got anything please/

I'm following, but do not have advice to give...could be a bacterian infection, since something has decreased the immune system capacity of the fish, with the exception of the oscar....

Thanks. I have treated with Tetracycaline 500mg per 10 gal. Salt and Heat. This happened quickly too. i was just sitting there wednesday night saying wow. If this keeps up my Pacu are going to grow faster than the Gourami and Oscar and was wondering If I should seperate them because the Pacus are so fast to get the foodand now im shocked the Pacus are alive

I guess I did the right thing. They are much improved. 2 days of tetracycline and now the white blotches are coming off and the eyes have cleared up. The ich looking stuff is off. I put them back in the 110 and now treated with milafix. They each ate 4 cichlid pellets each. Oscar isnt bothered at all by any of it. Salt, Heat, Tetracycline.

antibiotics is the way to go with bacteria infection...check your filter media, watch out for any spike because the antibiotic also attacked the "good "bacteria..
