In my own little world
I was cruising around the web looking at fish and happened on a Japanese site called Aqua-Bonito. They have a pretty nice selection of unusual and hard to find fish (of course I don't think I'll be ordering anything from that far away).

Well anyway I saw a catfish they had advertised (of course it was sold out) that caught my eye. They show it as being a Pseudopimelodus aqurensis. But I find that hard to believe. First Planet Catfish and all the other reference sites do not identify a P. Aqurenis and second Pseudopimelodus, of course is the family that contains the Bumble Bee and Jelly Cats. From what I know and have researched all Pseudopimelodus have a forked tail of varying degrees. But this catfish as can be seen from the photos from their site has a lobe tail that is very similar to a Chaca Chaca's.

Maybe someone with some knowledge of this catfish can ID it for me and possibly provide a common name. And if anyone can tell me if and where this fish could be obtained here in the States I'd greatly appreciate it.

Okay time to pull a Homer Simpson....DOAH.

Should have realized that the Japanese site would have an incorrect ID (along with the misspelling).

Thanks so much for the assist tezr.

Does anyone know if that greenish gold coloring is a natural color morph or is this fella just covered in algae?

Cool Catfish, now I am interested in them. Anyone got a common name, or know how you might be able to get them? Im not interested in them now, just want to know for the future. Thanks

Those are natural colors. However, i see what you are saying. i think that depending on how they took the picture, and the surroundings in the tank, mess with how the colors look a little bit. I mean try putting a fish over black substrate and then over white. and youll see what i mean.

It always makes me laugh when someone does this... "you'll Never figure it out, I've been looking for an ID for Months blah blah " First post Answers it

Typical MKF :headbang2

Nice find on those pics though as those colors are outstanding!!!

Dude, I never said no one would figure it out. As I said in my second post, had the correct Taxonomy had been there I wouldn't have had to ask. And there is no better place to ask than at MONSTAFISHADDICTS (which we all are )

It was the color of the catfish is what was throwing me for a loop, never have seen one that looks like that. I thought it was an Asian species.

But thanks for the compliment regarding the pics, that is one great looking Catfish ain't it. :D
