My Mother gave me some old Comics to sell. Most are in the 60's(when they were 12 cents).

There's Batman, Superman, westerns, war, archies, 1 spiderman and 1 Fantastic four.

By luck the FF(which is the first one I decided to look up) was the first appearance of the inhumans (#45) which goes anywhere from $39-$600.

There about 40-60 comics total. I'm going to be busy.

It will depend a lot on quality as to how much they will sell for... I used to know an old school superman comic collector who had a full room devoted to them from the first issue all in mint condition...

So yeah, good luck with the sales and hopefully you come out with a nice chunk of change...

-edit-

It might be worth taking them to a collector comic store to sell, just make sure to research prices first...

I never thought about this I have a lot of old comics in the attic from when I was a kid most are from the early to mid 60's. Every time I go up there I see them and take a look at a couple. I'll give them to son one day and he can do what he wants with them. Some of them have to be close to 50 years old now if not already.

I've written the value range down for all but 2(there is 49 total). On the comic scale of condition(2, 5, 6.5, 9.4) I'd give them all except 1 a 6.5 and that last one a 5. Most have a max value from $60-$120. So of course these/mine are not worth that much. I'd figure about 1/3. Then if I was to sell to a comic shop, most likely half of that. My mother is giving me half of that.

If I want to keep that 1/3, I'd have to go craigslist or ebay. Since I don't mess with ebay then it's craigslist.

After I finish tallying up the numbers then I'll start searching for a LCS just to hear what they say.

Edit: Funny how The first one I messed with(the Fantastic Four one) is worth the most after that for the most part the value went down.

Good luck with it, since im not sure how grading for comics work, whether to get top dollar they need to be authenticated for their quality level...

But if you sell as a private seller on CL or something, you may still make a little...

I know this is not what you want to hear, but I recently read an article about how everybody in that age range is now deciding to sell their comic book collection thinking they are worth good money. The only problem is the market in now flooded making them almost worthless with some exceptions. Some of the people interviewed were planning on using the money they made fom the sales to travel after retiring or put their kids through college.

Really depends on condition and wether you have complete sets. Sets are worth a lot to some folks but you have to find a buyer for collections and that's not easy.

I used to sell sport cards and memorabilia and the rule is " it's only worth what someone is willing to pay"...,,

Or steal in my case. Had my whole comic collection stolen out of my folks house. Complete Daredevil, Ghost Rider and...... Spider-Man. Sad day that was.....

Yea selling in bulk is a bad idea. If I want to get the 'true' value, I have to sell them one by one. I think I read that same article.
