Old Display

At my work, I saw this old display case that I thought might be good for some herp. Hopefully, they're throwing it out so I can take it. Do you think there would be any problems with it? It has a sliding door in the back and it's glass on top, front, and the sides. I'm not sure how thick the glass is. Pretty much like the watch/jewelry displays that you would see at Walmart or JC Penny's. I never really kept a retile before, so I was wondering if this would be good for it.

Give us dimensions! But I would think you could keep something in there.

It might work out. My only concern would be ventilation in side. You might have to put some air vents on the sides to get some air flow. It would probably make a pretty cool Dart Frog enclosure.

yeah it would work way better for stuff that need more humidity than ventilation of course. I thought about dart frogs, or anything else that would do well in a large exo terra type setup.

They work well for large snakes, the only real problem is lighting and the already mentioned ventilation.

I see them for sale occasionally on craigslist for 50-100 bucks, well worth it for a cage of that size.

The more I think about it, the more I want it, but knowing my place of work, they don't want anyone having anything. They would rather destroy it or let it rot before giving it to someone. They won't even sell it. At least that's how my department is, the others are even worst. But we'll see.
