Anyone have old photos of waaaaay back when they first started fish keeping?
These are photos of photos so not that good. This was when I was between 7 and 9. My first fish we Oscars and then one day I went to the Mall at Pet Land and someone had dropped off this Red Devil and they put it in a 10 gallon tank with lots of fake plants. He was layin on his side because he couldnt move. They wanted $40 so I had them hold it for me and I went back home and got $40 from my lawn mowing money and picked him up. Then I found a white female and bred them over and over. Goal was to get a solid white devil, came close with one with just a tad of orange on her eye, she had blue eyes too.
He was a wife beater, I had to rotate 3 other females otherwise he kills them. Found out the hard way. You can see a female devil on top in her side, she was beat up but survived. Tank was a 75 gallon.
All the devils besides my females were his off-spring, some turned out very nice.
I was doing a water change one day, put all my fish in two big buckets, I put the heater in the bucket but was not plugged in. Well my youngest brother plugged it in while I was hauling buckets of water to the bath tub, well he died obviously because the water was so hot before I knew what happened.
