Old media Q.

Hi all i shut down my outside pond over a 4 months ago , my filter box which run 1500gal pond as been un used since . Iam wanting to put the filter box on my indoor tropical tank but worried the old media may contain nastys i dont want in my ray tank . I have replaced all the old sponge media for new but still have the old flocor bio media .
Would u wash it and re use or just buy new

I would just buy new. You could probably rinse it out but with rays (generally a more expensive, sometimes delicate fish) I wouldn't even risk it. I'm sure new media is much cheaper than new fish!
