Just browsing MFK and looked at a post regarding old members. Seemed like most if not all were disappointed with the current state of the forum.
This was back a couple years ago.
So I am reaching out to the old stalwarts to see what us new members can do different. What do you like to see? And also newer members. What is it that draws you to MFK?

For me I like to see what others are doing with tanks and stuff. I also enjoy listening to the intellectual types and try to learn what I can. But I am getting older. What I would like to hear is what the young people like and what the cornerstone people miss.

For me I came here because almost any of the times I need to look up a fish online, Google always sends me here. I have learned so much in the time I have been here, anything I am able to give back, makes me happy.

I enjoy most of the people, most of the time, but I do not derive significance from meaningless arguments over moot subjects. Sometimes I think people just get kicks out of arguing and disagreeing with people. That’s not my favourite part. Don’t know if that will change tho considering it is a global site and there will always be people trolling wherever you go.

If there is anything I can do better as a new member, I am happy to change whatever I can.

Less preaching more informing would be nice :clap

Boyy a preacher gone preach I tell you what! Back in my days if you didn’t preach you were a peach, so preaching is a must either you preach or you preach but you mustn’t stop preaching you peach!

I can say I'm content with the site the way it is, I come to peruse the new threads to gain new idea and knowledge I did not have before. As far as the arguments, they can be annoying, but sometimes they are quite funy.

I just came back after a decade away and dug up some of my old threads. I can’t believe how much I’ve forgotten. It just seems like the interaction was better years ago. Seemed more supportive and encouraging.

I'd have to agree. I usually go digging in the old threads to find useful info or inspiration.
Im not here that long but it was definitely different than it is today. Allot of the members that inspired me to keep fish or tanks that were out of my comfort zone are no longer active.
