Old P's pics

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
pic one is probably a serrasalmus rhombeus (black piranha) or a serrasalmus compressus
pic two three and five are serrasalmus maculatus / serrasalmus spilopluera (gold spilo/mac)
pic four is pygocentrus nattereri (red belly piranha)

i didn't rule out compressus bc i can see some barring on the sides and the shape of the nose. with out a better flank shot its not really possible to give a 100% ID.

I know and I agree, but I live with a comp so I'm going out on a limb and saying its most likely not, could be though it doesn't have a red eye, the face looks right, the caudal fin is not ideal but it never is really. Hell without DNA testing you really can't give a 100% ID.

Appreciate all the responses and replys back... I am not much P knowledgable, myself personally. these pics were taken a long time ago...

pdsmith: the first top pic was brought in I beleive as a black rhombus?... if is nor not, not know? others were RBP's (natts) and the gold ones were thought to be gibbus, then, i don't know?

luckydemon: i don't even know what a "diamond" means, to be honest? :uhoh:

jp80911: i couldn't tell what a brandtii looked like or not, i totally suck at P's! :D

Anyways, a couple more P pics and others below... taken during that time. :)
