:confused:Ok here we go i have a 10 gallon tank that i used for years when i first got into the hobby fresh water of course. Well its been since replaced with a bigger tank so the 10 is just collecting dust. I want to try salt water what do i need to get and do to get it all set up to be a happy home for a single sw fish or snowflake eel i have a snowflake in my 20 its a fry still tiny but im being told wont last to long in fresh so what do i need to do ?? help me out here !!

thanks shane:nilly:

by snowflake i assume you mean G. tile

a 10 gallon is nowhere near large enough.. look at more of a 55 or 75

same thing....
but it can't be in freshwater AT ALL!

How can it live in fresh water? From what i was aware....I figured if you put a marine fish into fresh it would die sort of stright away or at least within the hour.

Chances are they have a brackish water type moray which is listed as snowflake sometimes.

Granted it shouldn't be but imagine marketing practice . As young they may or may not do well in fresh but as get bigger need brackish or 1.020 type salinity .

I don't know what type moray you have but sounds like its the "fresh water" snowflake moray which is actually a brackish eel.

I have seen them for sale as under 4 inches in freshwater tanks but they need brackish as get older or reg marine . I don't know at what size they should start being changed over .

Just do for search Fresh water snowflake moray .
