Old wagon wheel decoration?

Odd question, but I don't want to kill my fish..... I have an old miniature wagon wheel (see picture) that is maybe 1 foot in diameter. It is really old and very cool looking but it does have rusted steel on it. If I boil it and clean it, will the steel hurt the fish? I wanted to use it as a decoration.

It will leach into the water so I would say it's a bad idea.
