Anyone familiar with older 75 gallon tanks that have relatively thicker glass, a one piece hinged glass top, and, of course, no center brace. I will pick one up tomorrow for $100.00 including a Penguin 350 and a brand new 4-ft light strip.

for $100.00 and the filter to boot, why not try it. I would, in a heart beat. There must be a way to create a centre brace. Contact a metal shop and see if they can make you something that will hook onto the top but sit below the top so the glass lid will still close. Good luck.
