Anyone familiar with older 75 gallon tanks that have relatively thicker glass, a one piece hinged glass top, and, of course, no center brace. I will pick one up tomorrow for $100.00 including a Penguin 350 and a brand new 4-ft light strip.

What about it?I have one its an odell.I decided to replace the top frame so my newer style glass top would fit.

just check the silicone.. other than that i personaly like "old" tanks better..

I was just wondering how they held up, especially since they have no center brace.

they no doubt hold up better than today's tanks with the thin glass.

my old 90 and 65 were running continuously for 16 years before I sold them last fall..

I had braceless 30s that were almost 20 years old.

granted, my new 150 is a nicely made tank (1/2 inch glass and two cross braces)

but I still think I like the old style better..the braces get in the way.

I got the tank today. It is in great shape. Made by Ocean View.
