might be able to get a big tank,200g
my grandpa made it for a friend of his.
20-30 years ago,give or take a few years.
it has been up and running the whole time.
think salt water
well he is getting out of the hobby.
so will the silicone still hold up good?
dont really want to re silicone.
havent seen tank in person just curious on the age.

oh and its a 8' custom tank.got my fingers crossed i can get it.

the biggest problem with old tanks is when they are left in someone's bsement or storage unit and the silicone dries out. since the tank has been running fine with no leaks you shouldn't have to resilicone, just be extra careful moving it and putting any "twisting" stress on the seams.
 
Plan on resealing, it is not hard and definitely worth it.
 
Run your finger around the whole seal (do this dry), applying pressure as you slide it on the silicone to see if the seal has lost any of its integrity (starting to peel, cut spots, silicone crumbling, anything that would make it not look like new.

I would reseal it, its been my experience that larger tanks are pretty easy to reseal since you have more room to manuever, shouldn't take very long and def worth the effort IMO
