Sometime in the next few months a few of my friends and I are going to the Shedd. It's been a long while since I've been, and I wasn't nearly as interested in fish then. Now i'm salivating over the chance to see Granddad, who is not just an aussie lung, he's also the oldest fish in captivity. I believe they also have a couple of Arapaima Gigas, and a giant pacific octopus.
 
cool story but is the oldest living fish not a koi at near 200 ?
 
The way they used to judge koi age was proven incorrect.

Props to Shedd for keeping a fish so well for so long. Says a LOT about that place and the level they are performing at.
