I used to run a dive charter in the Caribbean and people used to get bit by dog faced puffers all the time. the best was when one of our divemasters pulled the mask on an idiot back about 3-4 inches at 40ft underwater and let it snap back on him for tormenting the poor puffer- it was great. by the way a dogfaced puffer can take your finger off to the end digit no prob. hahaha

just to clarify for the record - we also used to kick anyone of the boat that screwed with puffer fish or any other marine life (turtles etc.)
