nobody should go to jail for selling fishes that are already being bred successfully in captivity. there are lots of farms in singapore, malaysia, indonesia that can support the demand. its the government in the US thats crazy! to think some wild caught fishes are allowed in the US. why would you go and tell the WDFW? thats just low in my opinion. let guys who take the risk do what they want, if they get caught, then sorry for them. but the government should do something about legalizing asian aros in the US!

Many MFKers support the legalization of this fish, but, even if they SHOULD be legal, that does not make it right to keep illegal fish.
 
Why are these beautiful fish illegal in the U.S. What is the difference between them and the other species of Arowana that are sold in the U.S.

exactly my point! the ones being sold by aro farms are captive bred 3rd generation fishes, ensuring that the wild populations remain stable.......

and yeah, this one too. silvers and blacks are having a hard time being harvested in the amazon wilds too, yet theyre ok to be sold in the US. compared to the "illegal" asian aros which are captive bred. i just dont get it. laws should be checked, and the ban should be lifted.......but, this aint the thread for this....
 
okay i agree here that they should be legal
i did not call wdfw
but even if theyre illegal and we think they should be legal that doesnt make it right
or lawful
