i just heard that a senior in Xavarian High School was killed in Prospect Park last night. Xavarian is about a 5 minute drive from me, and up until a few weeks ago I thought I was going to go there for highschool next year...
from what i hear, the senior was in prospect park with friends and a girlfriend when a younger kid insulted the gf, and the guy chased the younger guy away. then the father of the younger guy killed the xavarian senior.
i cant believe this happened.
i didnt know the kid, but this story really disturbed me. so unnecisarry. people think "Oh it will never happen to me..."
well this kindof makes you re think that. unbelievable that someone can go out for a harmless walk with his friends and never come back.
ive just started walking around with my friends, so this makes me want to be more careful.
so if youre around my age, chances are you'll have started to hang out with your friends. im not an 'authority figure,' just a typical 13yr old, but please...remember that this kind of thing DOES happen and please try to avoid incedents.
the part that makes me shiver, sends chills up my spine, is that at this very moment, people are preparing to bury their son, brother, nephew, friend, girlfriend, whatever. he was a senior in high school. this all happened within a half hour from my house. so please, think before you act. it CAN happen to you.
