I was just doing some vacuuming of the house today, when I got by one of my 55s I noticed a cloud of fry swimming around in there. I was suprised. In that aquarium there is 1 xanthic sagittae, 2 red tiger motaguense, and 1 neet, all the fish are between 3-4 inches TL. I didn't know I had a pair of RTMS, I thought they were both females. The larger one is the one that's colored up, so I thought the smaller one that was less colorful was a subdominant female, but that's the male! Caught me totally off guard.

The male is not hangng out with the female, never has really hung out with her, she kind of beats on him. The female is staying on the left side of the aquarium guarding the fry. She seems content to stay there instead of killing the other fish in there. Now I have fry from convicts, spectabiles, cutteri, and rtms. I need some more growout tanks, lol.

I didn't think rtms would breed that small.

congrats my festae bred the other day at 3-4"

Cool 3''-4'' isn't to small i wouldn't be that supprised that they breed at that size

Thats alot of fry though gonna sell them ?

pics would be great

I'll get some pics up when I can. There are mass power outages here in Dayton due to the wind storm. Some of my friends at the bar I go to down the street from my house just called and asked me to bring candles to the bar because the power is out there. I live like a minute's walk away, but the power is not out at my house for some reason. I'm lucky so far. We just heard reports that people that lost power will be out of power for 2-3 days, ouch.

Well, ok, I just clicked off a few pics real quick, I'll post a couple before I leave for the bar.

Nice work. I agree with Cam, I'll take some of the fry in Michigan.

Ok here are 3 quick pics, then I've got to get to the bar. The first 2 are the mom, the 3rd (blurry) is the dad, he hides a lot, wuss.

OK, gotta leave for now, remember; Go Steelers, beat those Browns!

Cool, the Steelers crushed the Browns 10-6.:headbang2

Here is the bar without electricity where I watched the game on a small bateery powered b&w tv. Note the candles providing the lighting.

I have about 10 Kordan breatheable bags. I never tried shipping fish before, but I could give it a try.
