omg.....The clueless me thought feeding live food will be okay for my pygos... BIG NO NO! I regret it so much.... After eating up all the live kois, my pygos start attacking all moving objects in the tank! The tankmate Catfish... is NO WHERE to be found! I usually see it swim around but its gone now....I fortunate that the pleco in the tank is doing fine because its really slick. It never swims infront of the shoal and always moves extremely slow against the dws as if it was a branch. Man, I loved how the catfish used to swim with the pack thinking it was a pygo too. I guess I as well as it had it coming...F1, mike, and ballin, told me its a matter of time and BAM! times up...RIP free catfish.:swear::headshake

Not just aggression but also the risk of introducing parasites or desease is much worse imo. Id say a missing pbass is the long end of the stick on that one....

If uve learned anything Afro, u must learn a good diet is essential for your piranhas, unless ur breeding ur own you are just subjecting them to possible desease/infection and parasites.....especially when their young like your shoal!

Why did you put tankmates with piranhas in the first place? lol

nevermind! After wc, I see the catfish swimming around.. it must have found a good spot to hide but now is back and about! JUST FOR THE RECORD, the catfish was already in the tank when I purchased it BEFORE the shoal. And the pleco was just the 1st and last attempt.. Mind as well give it a shot now than later...

And I always thought Koi was a gourmet type food... Isn't that supposed to be one of the most expensive, and well cared for ornamental fish? Anyways, I wouldn't spend that kind of coin for feeders...

Unless you mean those cheapo feeder comets - which are not kois.

anything live is a potential food source to them. it was only a matter of time. sorry for your loss
