wow what a miserable life. poor little guy. I don't understand how someone can get a monitor lizard and expect to keep them in an aquarium their whole life.

I know. I always shake my head when I see Niles for sale. That reptile store I sell my geckos to has about 20 baby ornate niles right now for dirt cheap. I'm sure their fate will end up the same.
