Just got me a 3" specimen, and while he is still aclimatimating before being released into the tank, I have a few questions:

1) Do these do better in groups or are they solitary animals? The store I got mine from still has 3 more, and they seemed to get along very well. Should I purchase teh rest?
2) The store feeds their fish a mix of MP and live black worms. Will this guy take pellets/flakes?I need to know right away because if he will, I would need to release him into a different tank

Please feel free to share your experiences with this species

nice
do you have a pic
i have a trio of them at about 4 - 5"
they're like living statues laying on each other like a totem pole in the plants
mine also only do feeders with slight interest in pellets or wafers or frozen food
mine also only eat at night in darkness
ive yet to see one eat but in the morning feeders gone
catfish has big belly mmmmmm tasty
also they can get picked on
ive just seperated them from the bullys
Jag , Red texas x Red terror hybrid, and a P. Demasoni cichlid
all mean buggers this catfish is tough and heals quickly
they are much happier hanging out with a Senegal Bichir

heres a couple pics

grrrr, lol sorry just mad cause I don't have one. One day I will own every catfish that everyone posts pics of so that I can say yeah I have one too, and it eats everything in the tank lol. Great cats though. Keep us updated with pics.

market shrimp?
i feed my lungfish market shrimp
haven't been able to get these guys to eat them yet
now that they are more at peace ill try again
though nocturnal and somewhat stationary
they are very cool cats
i believe i have a couple that paired up
two of them lay on each other mostly
the one i believe is male is slimmer
and ive seen them swim all over each other in a weird way
as if courting :naughty: was when i had pumps turned off
i think they prefer calmer water

Yeh market shrimp, even come out for them in day time, just used to throw bits of fish or prawn in powerhead flow as it drifted past it would nail it, now if its hungry it will find it itself.;)
