Hey,

I read that some people will have their lights on for 4-5 hours, shut them off for about 4 hours, then put them back on for another 4-5. And from what I have read this is healthy for plants and also saves money on electricity. Is anyone familiar with this? What exactly does this do for the plants?

you'll get mixed opinions on this. some say it helps with algae, and others say it makes no difference. don't think it will hurt the plants though. I tried it a few years ago to help battle algae and it was not a cure.

Never heard of this. But, interested to see what the experts say here.

Only advantage i see to a lighting regiment like that is maximizing lighted viewing hours. Other than that I doubt it will have much effect.
