I also was wondering about heaters, I have a used 150 watt and a new 250 watt spread out in tank about 3 foot in center and trying to get it evened out so that both heaters work out to maintain around 78 to 80 temp the 250 kicks on way more than the 150. How do I achieve this? Thanks.

They'll be calibrated slightly differently, there's always very minor discrepancies (and with Eheim Jager, that's very minor from my experience - very accurate)
Set them both to 78, 79, or 80 - your pick. They'll keep the tank at that.
