I have just got a 125 gal up and running, tank has cycled and i have introduced my jag to it 3 days ago and everything looked good. We were leaving the light on from around 2 pm til around 11 pm when i get off work . well tonight the wife had turned out the light around 9 pm and when i got home about 11 30 i turned the light on and he is acting very strange, as if he were sleeping or something. is this normal at nighttime? he is just hangin out at the bottom and sorta hiding. I have never really turned on the lights before in the middle of the night, and as iam typing this iam watching him and he seems to be snapping out of it . Is this normal?

Yes it is perfectly normal.Mine will park inside his cave when the lights go off until i come down to feed them in the morning.
yeah its normal i have like 13 small cichlids in my 5ft 120 atm and if i suddenly turn on the likes at night the tank looks empty who kind of have to play a "wheres waldo" game to find them all in their sleeping spots lol
