Hi all...I noticed that my upside down catfish, Thor, has this oblong white patch on his underside. He recently had ich, which was treated successfully. This is not in the form of spots, but a "filled in" area. He has begun to skim the glass, eating algae, i assume. I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas as to what this might be. He is acting perfectly normal, eating, swimming, hiding....this area was not present 2 days ago....help. Thanks guys and gals! ;)

Here they are. What the heck is it!!!!!!!! :werd:

has it been humping your heater? my lace cat had a big rashy burn looking spot mark from always being up against the heater, watch for that .

I have seen marks like that left by heaters, If that is a burn mark just watch for fungus infection there and if that doesn't happen you should see some slime and skin sloughing then healing starting within a couple days, It can take some time to heal completely but the mark does go away. I had a bumble bee cat do this by wedging up between the glass and the heater, a mesh heater sleeve helps prevent repeats.

Thankx guy's This does make sense. He does spend time near the heater. We did have an issue with our heater where the temp sky rocketed to 89. It seems these heaters today are not as accurate as they claim. You can't go by what the dial says but only what your digital thermometer reads. We have to set it at 82 to maintain 78 - 79 at the far end of the tank. Does anyone know of a reliable heater? Also, we're wondering if we should get some PIMAFIX to help heal the wound. I will definatly purchase that mesh sleeve today. Thankx again!
