Hey all! Im making a 10 gallon sump for my 55 gallon which i am in the process right now of drying...

I just want to know, to I HAVE to have dividers? Ive searched all diy sumps and some do, some dont, some go sideways(chompers), and all different kinds.

Also, what overflow box and pumps should i get for this wet/dry?

For the media, are pot scrubbers all i need?
Ill post up pics of my building soon. :)

Thanks.

You need something to hold the bio-madia (scrubbies) in place, and a second one to establish the water level in the sump.

It might not be classified as a divider but you need something to hold the prefilter off of the scrubbies too.

Yes scrubbies will be all the bio-media you'll need.

well, to hold the scrubbies in place, i will just stuff them into the tower in neat rows.

the divider that makes the water level in the sump.. is that the one that divides the tower and the pump? also, its small too.

for the prefilter, before the water from the pipes go through the scrubbies, what can i do to spread out the water?
