I have always kept all of my tanks gravel. A week ago, I put sand in my new 210. I liked the look so much, I converted all of my tanks to sand within the last week!:nilly:

But, isn't it harder to grow plants in sand?
but it's easy to grow fake ones though.:D

i went from sand to fine gravel, no larger than 2mm per stone. the sand did look better when it was clean but it got dirty too quick and looked ugly and mucky just a few hours after a water change and vac. i would have had to vac everyday to keep it looking good and i just didnt have the time for that.

ohmy..........i regret going to sand cuz for any little current, it sturs right away, thats why i changed all of my tanks to pea size gravel

i love the look of sand, its jsut so hard for me to do water changes with it without stirring it up.
i find it easier with pool filter sand to clean. it's a little heavier and not that much sand comes out when i siphion the sand. IME...

P.S. Love your signiture.:D

:iagree:

Plants are not even an issue to me. The only mildly community fish that I have right now is a male betta. Any other fish I have right now would tear the poo out of live plants.:WHOA:
