So I’ve been breeding guppies for a while now and they are so ravenous they accidentally ate another guppies eye while scarfing down their own food. I thought I’d be kind and move the one eye guppy into my vieja tank thinking his demise would be a quick gulp and gone.
Well I was wrong, he has found refuge in a group of roots and a mat of algae that is always present near the top of the tank. He was a colourless genderless fish until I noticed he is still alive tonight. He’s also starting to get some nice cobra patterns and color.
Do you think he would fair better in an angelfish tank?

If you don’t give him his own tank, I’d say if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. He is doing fine in there, and who can say the angels won’t eat him once he hits the water. If the Viejas don’t care your best bet would be to leave him be.
I put some baby kribs in with my ca/sa cichlids as an experiment/feeder. They ate two and now one of them is colored up, growing, and eating alongside them. They don’t even notice or care.
