Growing out my one eyed little oscar, he was beaten pretty badly in my tank. so now he is on his own.
He is currently around 2"-3" and growing really well, he eats tonnes and is very active. He had his scales ripped off his gill plate and upper side on his left along with his eye. He has an intact right side thought which is pretty cool.

Another interesting thing, he is a true albino with orange eyes yet his fins are regenerating black, which is very strange but looks cool.

Just goes to show that even a fish thats got its skin hanging off barely alive can make a come back and still look good!

Wow. A true survivor. Named him already? BTW good job taking care of him.

neat! this makes me want to post the story of my blind (no eyes) pictus in my cichlid tank... lol, good luck with him, i'll be watching this thread!

Thanks guys, he is a true survivor its been roughly a week and a half since he was attacked so he is showing great recovery progress.
as for a name, he is called Snake. after the character "Snake Plissken" in the movie Escape from New York, played by Kurt Russel. I thought the name implied that he could survive whatever was thrown at him.

I will put more pictures up here as he progresses and heals. so far he seems to be growing at the rate of a normal oscar, which is good.

Since you named him Snake...might as well give him an eye patch. ;)

the Idea did come into my head but then I remembered that fish have slime coats so it would be impossible to do that. looks like I'll have to photoshop it lol
