just went to my lfs hoping to get a palmas but then i saw when it moved, only one eye  , the lfs agreed in lowering the price but not that low, i visited the lfs for a couple of times before thinking of purchasing this beauty, my observation is that its always on the side of the tank, not moving much, i thought that its shy but it didn't had a left eye so why its always there, also seems that scared of the tankmates (rtg, pacu, tinfoils), i feel pity for the poor bichir, having second thoughts of buying, added information the bichir is a juvy anymore, i think its more that a year old because of its size but not, would like to ask your opinions regarding this matter if i would buy the palmas or not?

How much do they want for it ?
If thats its only problem go for it many fish in general rely far more on other sensory input than eyes

about $40
its more aesthetics but it doesn't mean that much to me, bichirs really more on their smell than sight

Well thats the average price here for a good specimen,If thats a good price there I'd go for it -Anne

I've got a really pretty one-eyed Polypterus mokelembembe that has absolutely no trouble competing for food or space with the other bichirs in the tank. If the lack of an eye doesn't bother you then get the fish.

It shouldn't have a problem getting food, it all depends on what you can deal with. If you like it, go for it.

pics?

I have a one eyed palmas polli and it is my most active and fattest bichir. I'd buy it, though I would try to talk them down on the price a bit. :D

the lfs lower it a bit, so its about $40, there is no fixed price for a palmas here because its not always available, sorry no pics, if i get it, i'll definitely post it here, i thinking about getting it next week :D
