As I've posted before I have 2 Female Festae each with broods from one male in the same tank, was curious how that would pan out well I'm gettin' my answer..............

The Dom female was malled by both the male and the now new Dom female. The brood from the ex- Dom then moved into the other females nest and meshed with her brood. Not sure how that's gonna pan out either. The Ex- Dom was removed to a hospital tank where hopefully she'll recover and rejion the other 2 in a larger tank next month. My concerns now are that the male may turn on the new Dom, if this occurs I'll move him out til' the fry are large enough to be relocated.......crazy fish.

One other thing I noticed during the malling ............ festae don't have large teeth, I have RTM's and Salvini's a 10th of their size with larger teeth.................go figure.

My male has some pretty decent teeth but the female doesn't. RTM's are Parachromis so it's a given they have some choppers lol.

Males definitely have some nice chompers on them:

Otherone, good luck with your female. I hope she has a speedy recovery.

On a side note, DarthV how do you get your pictures so big? MFK always automatically shrinks mine down for some reason.

I don't use the MFK gallery for my fish photos, maybe that's why. Then again the forum does do resizing. Most of my fish photos are done @ 1024x768, but the forum seems to scale them down to ~ 640x480?

Monster, yeah you could really see the front teeth on my male when he was smaller (6-7" in that photo). I don't think they are quite as apparent now (~12").

Oh ok, thanks DarthV.

what size tank do you have them in? i would almost suggest having females in different tanks and move male back and forth to the females. you might have to go with incomplete divider but at least you can continue having multiple broods at same time. I had mine in a 180 and i was hoping for the same outcome you had.. but that didnt happen, my smaller female almost killed the larger female. eventually i had to sell my larger female and she was the better looking of the two. if i had enough tanks i would have moved male back and forth just to see how successful it would be. I am set up for it now and growing out WC at 3.5" now. good luck.
