hi guys,

I got 5 C. Gachua. There are two big ones, and 3 slightly smaller ones. I think the two big ones are a pair, since they are always swimming together and show no agression to eachother. They do chase the smaller ones.

Since sunday, one of the two (the one I believe to be the male) is just hanging still at the surface. Not eating, hardly swimming. Every now and then taking a small breathe of air. Apart from not eating or swimming, he looks fine. When I got them several weeks ago he had lots of torn fins and wounds, wich are all gone now. He doesnt look extremely pale or dark, doesnt squeeze his fins together. I also disturbed them in some sort of mating ritual (I think).

The other fish are all fine, and happily swimming together. I even think they are slightly less agressive since last sunday. I have made no major changes in water quality/temp etc.

So.... Is he breeding or is he about to die?

Cheers,
Lars

ps. Some additional information on Gachua behavior (when breeding) would also be welcome!)
