i found a nice fixture with 2 250 watt halides and 4, 65 pcs and 12 leds. so a totall of 760 watts, on my tank thats about 8.4 watts per gallon. is that too much?

Ehh... not really.

Its not really wpg that matters...shoot us your tank dimensions.

What are you trying to do with these lights specifically? What do you want to grow?

Assuming that your Bowfront 90 is standard dimensions and that the light is going on this tank, you are probably fine. (depending on what you want to grow in there)

its the standard 90 bow. and i want to grow everythin from shrooms to clams and sps :) but i think im goin to have the halides alternate thro the day to simulate the sun. so they wont have everythin full blast all day.

ha well i mean like it will be a cycle. it wil go moonlights off pcs on then the left mh on then both on then the left off then the right off then the pcs off and the moonlights on. that wouldnt hurt it would it?

No that should be just fine. You are still only turning them on and off once a day. You will need a whole bunch of timers though.

Yea, that is actually a good idea.

I thought that you meant you were turning your MH on and off throughout the day.
