This should be the last one for a while. This my only unidentified pike now and Im taking a break from collecting them and gonna concentrate my efforts on raising them. Big ups to gabautista for picking this one up for me,its gonna be a winner.

Peanut will know for sure, but it looks like a stressed out Cr. sp. Venezuela to me.

Yeah its stressed out allright, had its *** handed to itself in my other tanks. My johannas want to murder it, so I dropped in with my small svenis and xingus, and he ended up locking up with a bellycrawler in a deathmatch, so its been all alone in a 10g minnow tank till today. Putting it in with my adult sveni female (gravid at that) is not an option either.

No, i wouldn't add it to any of your other pike tanks. Generally if you add new pikes to established pike tanks, its not a good thing. Either add a group of them at the same time to break up the aggression or don't add them at all..haha.

As for the pike...it looks like a very NICE Crenicichla johanna...:D. Get some none stressed photos though! Love the bars above the lateral bar...its gonna be a looksta! ;)

Yeah, that sounds about right. My "Venezuela" was definitely my most aggressive pike. Him and my Johanna HATED each other. Constant lip locking going on with those two.

That or sp. 'lugubris'....they tend to look a lot like johanna. Rather difficult to tell apart as juv. Top that off with all the variants of johanna....its mind boggling. Can't wait to see this fish at 8" and at 12". Definately take a photo journal of it. :D
