I have two Aqueon ProHeaters, 250 w each, in my tank. I have them both connected to a Finnex digital heater temperature controller via an extension cord with multiple outlets to plug into. It's supposed to be able to handle 800W, but on both of my heaters the LED light is flashing like the power is being interrupted. I unplugged the heaters from the controller and just plugged them into a normal outlet and they both worked fine. Is this something that I should be concerned about?

Does the heater have a set point? It sounds like its set higher than the temp controller. Try setting the temp controller 2 degrees higher than the heaters, so it'll only do something if the heaters fail and try to cook your tank.

If I set the heaters to 79 and the controller to 81 wouldn't the heaters just be constantly running trying to reach the 81 degrees? The controller was working just fine with maintaining the temperature I wanted, it's just the LED on the heaters kept flickering on and off when it should constantly be illuminated. I'll give it a go, though. I've also emailed Finnex customer service so hopefully they'll respond back.
