ok, i decided im gonna make my newly aquired 125 gallon tank an african community, centered around bichirs. ive never had a tank this big and i dont know how many fish it can sustain. im also highly against the over crowded look. so i want my tank to be sparsley populated, yet active at all levels.

i was thinkin bout like 5 bichirs, 3 Nimbochromis Livingstonii (all female), and some sort of suface dweller (need suggestions)

so what do you think?, too little?, too much?, will the Nimbochromis be agresiive? cool african surface dweller? room for a mormyrid? cmon guys if you look at thsi be sure to comment!:feedback:

I think a few african butterfly fish would be awsome surface dwellers for that.

a rope fish would be a good conversation piece amonst your bichirs. Have you considered African Cichlids to add color to the tank?

i have a butterfly fish already, and he most definetly wont let me get ne more, i already tried, twice, he killed both......

ya i did think about africans, thats why i have nimbochromis livingstonii on the list, didnt think any others would be calm enuff for my tank.......mabe tho.......

i had decided a few days ago that i wasnt gonna get an arowana till i had a bigger tank, but after watching 1 for a solid hour at my lfs i might have to reconsider.......

the ropefish hadnt crossed my mind, have to look in to that, havnt there been a couple of instances where large bichirs have eaten larger ropes?????

still worried about the Nimbocromis tho, ne 1 have ne personal experience with them and knows how agressive they are?
