My pond is man-made, but it was dug out many many years ago. If you didn't know better, you would say it was a natural pond, but it was used to drain the excess water from the fields. It is huge, no idea how huge (bigger than most swimming pools, maybe olympic sized?) no filters, native plants, and alot of sunfish. Mainly pumpkinseeds. And a single largemouth bass, he's been in there for years.
Yep, hah, he's huge. We caught him when he was a baby, and then put him in this pond (along with a few sunfish....now there are much more than a few). People who keep fish in too small of tanks really PMO.
How big is the bass? If he's bigger than 10" or so, he might find that goldfish to be a tasty snack. That thing will stick out like a sore thumb among all the sunfish
sea- thanks!
andy- im not sure exactly. There is a lot of cover in the pond, and a bunch more of these guys, along with tasty frogs/newts/ect. and their eggs. Plus, there are a few smaller (about 1 in less than this guy) goldies going in, I think that the goldies will be ok...if not, what can you do, nature will be nature.
